On January 15, 2016, TLC was opened in prayer. Then the Officers talked about the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
TLC is asking the student body and the community to collect change to help find a cure for blood cancer patients during the month of February. During the drive, students will learn about service and leadership. Philippians 2:3 states, "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility. Count others more significant than yourselves."
TLC wants to make a difference by collecting change and raising awareness to help people with by blood cancers. In the 1960's the survival rate for the most common form of childhood leukemia was 3%. Today it is approximately 90% thanks to many research advances funded by LLS.
With the help of programs like this one, LLS has invested more than $1 billion in research to advance therapies that save lives. That includes more than $590,779 from Mississippi and Louisiana.
If you have any questions please see a TLC Officer or come to MSP to obtain a coin box so you can collect change at the house.
