Judson Necaise is entering his second year as the principal of Poplarville Upper Elementary (PUE) and has twenty-one years of experience in education. A graduate of Hancock High School, Mr. Necaise earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2003. He continued his academic journey at William Carey University, completing a Master’s Degree in Education in 2009. He later earned a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2017.
Mr. Necaise’s teaching career began as a middle school teacher for three years before he transitioned to a high school setting, where he spent the next 13 years teaching U.S. History, dual enrollment courses, AP World History, and serving as a special education teacher. In 2015, he joined the faculty at Poplarville High School, where he contributed to PHS, maintaining an A rating in four out of five years. In 2020, he began his career as assistant principal at PUE.
Mr. Necaise aims to maintain a positive and safe culture for the students and faculty. He believes his role and the role of his assistant principal, Mrs. Michele Lee, are to create efficient routines, empower teachers and students to be their best, and be easily accessible to parents. As principal, Mr. Necaise and the faculty at PUE made significant improvements last year. Poplarville Upper Elementary (PUE) increased its performance in the state’s accountability model by more than 70 points, earning PUE its first-ever A rating from the Mississippi Department of Education.
“Our success at PUE is a by-product of our faculty’s commitment to their students, work ethic, and helping each other every day.” Judson Necaise, Principal Poplarville Upper Elementary.
