Kiwanis OlympiAD 2023

On Thursday, April 20, 2023, students from Poplarville School District participated in the Kiwanis Special OlympiAD event at Picayune Memorial High School football stadium.  Students from PLE, PUE, MSP, and PHS participated in one track event and one field event.  Congratulations to our athletes! They did an amazing job representing the Poplarville School District.

 

PLE

Dawson – 1st 50 meter dash & 2nd softball toss

Sean –  1st bean bag toss & 1st 50 meter dash

William – 3rd  bean bag toss & 2nd 50 meter dash

Logan – participated in bean bag toss

PUE

Sydni – 1st bean bag toss & 1st 50 meter dash

Gemma – 2nd 50 meter dash & 1st tennis ball throw

Jason – 2nd tennis ball throw & 2nd 100 meter dash

Tripp – 1st 50 meter walk & 3rd tennis ball throw

Colt  – 2nd 50 meter dash & participated in tennis ball throw

MSP

Adien – 3rd long jump & 3rd 50 meter dash

Matthew – 1st tennis ball throw & 2nd 50 meter dash

Demetrius – 1st 50 meter dash & 1st long jump

Dixie – 1st 50 meter dash & 1st softball toss

Nicole – 3rd 50 meter dash & 3rd bean bag toss

AJ – 3rd bean bag toss& 1st 50 meter dash

Merischa – 1st 50 meter dash & 2nd long jump

PHS

Elijah – 1st long jump & 2nd 100 meter dash

Zarian – 2nd wheel chair race & participated in tennis ball toss

Maven – 3rd tennis ball toss & participated in 100 meter dash

We also had a group of 10 PHS students go as our athletes’ “Buddies”.  Their job was to help ensure the athletes got to each event, help athletes get their lunches and help load/unload the bus. They did a wonderful job of cheering and encouraging our athletes. We would like to send a special thank you to our “Buddies” – Tyke, Josey, Rayelin, Lane, Anna Kate, Tucker, Sammi, Nick, Lendy & Jesús.
