Nature Day at PUE

The Poplarville Upper Elementary Fifth Grade students celebrated Nature Day, Friday, October 25, 2013.  The students visited different stations along the Nature Trail, each with guest speakers.  The PUE students donated supplies to Ms. Missy Dubuisson for the wild animals that are being rehabilitated at Wild-At-Heart Rescue. Fifth graders heard from the following guests:

·        Mr. Eddie Smith, Extension Agent, Mississippi State University
·        Dr. Christopher Boyd,  Extension Professor of Environmental Ecology, Mississippi State University
·        Ms. Missy Dubuisson, Wildlife Rehabilitator, Wild-At-Heart Rescue
·        Ms. Ginny Sims, Volunteer, Southern Pines Animal Shelter
·        Ms. Ashlyn Brock, Anti-litter Coordinator, Mississippi Department of Transportation
·        Dr. Blair Sampson, Research Entomologist, United States Department of Agriculture
·        Poplarville High School Oceanography Class and the Fish Fighters
·        Mr. Daniel R. Wise, Jr., President, Poplarville Insuarance, Inc., composting paper
·        Mr. Ronnie Wise, USM, archaelogy
