NOTICE FOR BIDS
INVITATION TO BID FOR HUNTING & FISHING LEASE
Written SEALED bids will be received by the Poplarville School District Board of Trustees at 302 South Julia Street, Poplarville, Mississippi, Pearl River County, up to and not later than 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022, for hunting and fishing lease on the following school property with a minimum bid of $16.00 per acre:
DESCRIPTION: Section 16, Township 2 South, Range 17 West, Pearl River County, Mississippi, containing 640 acres, more or less.
Bids must be submitted on the official bid form which may be obtained from the Poplarville School District, Office of the Superintendent, or via the link below. The policy of the Board of Trustees of the Poplarville School District requires that bids shall be accompanied by a deposit, equal to 100% of the amount bid for the first year rental, in the form of a check or money order. All bids without deposits will be considered void. Deposits will be returned on all rejected bids.

All bids shall be enclosed and sealed in a self-addressed return envelope (addressed to Poplarville School District, Office of the Superintendent, 302 South Julia Street, Poplarville, MS 39470) with the 16 Section Land portion noted.
Lessor will be required to have proof of liability insurance at the time of signing lease and will be required to pay the recording fee with the Pearl River County Chancery Clerks Office.
Section 29-3-41, Mississippi code Annotated (1972), as amended, states that “the existing holder of (hunting and fishing rights), if he shall have made an offer, shall have the final right to extend his lease at an annual rental equal to said highest offer”.

To the extent allowed by law, The Poplarville School Board reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids.
