💫 MSP Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Heidi Delaune!💫
Born and raised in Poplarville, Heidi Delaune has built her career on a strong foundation of dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving students with diverse needs. She began her journey in education by teaching special education for four years, where she developed a deep passion for supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally. Now in her second year at the Middle School of Poplarville, Heidi continues to bring energy, expertise, and heart to her classroom each day. She holds a bachelor’s degree in K–12 Special Education from The University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s degree in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Grand Canyon University. She is currently advancing her professional knowledge at Mississippi State University, working toward a certification in Applied Behavior Analysis to further strengthen her ability to meet the needs of all learners.
Beyond her impressive academic and professional accomplishments, Heidi is known for the warmth, positivity, and dedication she brings to her school community. She is married to Keith Delaune and is the proud mother of two daughters, Hannah (4) and Sophia (1), who inspire her daily to lead with patience, kindness, and purpose. Her commitment to both her family and her students reflects her belief in the power of education and the importance of nurturing every child’s potential. With her strong work ethic, passion for learning, and devotion to her students, Heidi is a truly deserving recipient of the 2025-2026 Middle School of Poplarville’s Teacher of the Year award.
