Whitney Magee-PUE Staff of the Year

Whitney Magee
The Poplarville Upper Elementary is thrilled to honor Whitney Magee as our 2024-2025 Staff Member of the Year!

Whitney Magee is a proud native of Poplarville, Mississippi and graduate of Poplarville High School Class of 2006. After high school, she continued her education at Pearl River Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned a Master’s degree in Social Work. Whitney worked for six years at South Mississippi Regional Center’s Robert Lott Community Homes, providing support for individuals with intellectual disabilities. In 2017, Whitney began working with the Poplarville School District as the behavior specialist for the lower and upper elementary schools. Working with students and helping them navigate their challenges has been an incredibly rewarding experience for her. Each day, Whitney strives to make a positive impact on their lives. Growing up in a small town, she always felt a deep connection to her community and a strong desire to give back.

On a personal note, Whitney is married to her high school sweetheart, Travis Magee. Together, they have one son, Briggs, who brings so much joy and meaning to their lives. Outside of her work in education, she also has a career as a real estate agent. Travis and Whitney enjoy building new homes in their growing hometown, contributing to the development of Poplarville.

One of Whitney’s greatest passions is spending time with her family. She loves to snow ski on Mt. Crested Butte, Colorado and one of her favorite places to visit is Bryson City, North Carolina. In her own home, she makes it a priority to fill every room with memories, from family gatherings to quiet evenings with loved ones. Whitney believes that a home should be a place where love, laughter, and warmth are always present.

Congratulations to Whitney Magee on this well-deserved honor!
