Mrs. Angela Smith’s Second Grade class used Valentine conversation hearts and observed the reaction of the candy in three different liquids: water, soda, and vinegar. Students worked in groups and recorded results on individual papers. This incorporated writing into our science lesson. The students LOVED seeing all of the chemical reactions with this cool science experiment.
