Congratulations to Ms. Presley Seal for being named PLE’s Teacher of the Year!
My Education:
I am a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in Reading and Social Studies. After graduation, I started my teaching career at Poplarville Lower Elementary. This January will mark 2 years at PLE and of teaching experience. In the future, I am excited to pursue a Master’s degree and, one day, become National Board Certified.
My Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that in a classroom, positive relationships and a positive classroom environment must be in place in order for students to thrive. Students need to feel comfortable, happy, and safe in order to learn! My goal is to create an atmosphere where not only do students know that they are loved and cared for by me, but each other. Once that is in place, that is when the learning can happen! Each student is special and has his or her own needs. My hope is to grow each student socially, emotionally, and academically. I believe in creating memorable and engaging learning experiences for students, whether it’s providing hands-on activities, learning outside, or transforming our classroom for the day! I want my students to feel confident in their learning abilities and enjoy coming to school each day!
My Why:
My students are my reason for teaching every day. The excitement they have when they read a sentence fluently or solve a math problem is something that will forever bring a smile to my face. I love not only sharing their excitement in learning but also cheering them on when they win a baseball game or master a new skill in gymnastics!
One item I could never teach without:
One item I could never teach without would have to be my pink microphone! I use it daily! We use the pink microphone to sing our class songs, to play games, or just for general teaching! My students know when I pull out my microphone, the “Miss Seal Show” is starting and all eyes are on me!
