Athletic Update April 26-30th, 2021

Baseball

Congratulations to the PHS baseball team for making it to the playoffs! Last week they brought home a win on April 20th against Purvis, with a final score of 4-2. They also played against Sumrall on the 23rd with a final score of 5-13. This week they will play Thursday at 6:30pm at McComb. Friday they will play at home against McComb at 6:30pm. The final game will be held Saturday at their component’s location if they advance to the final stage. Good luck to our team and we know you are able to bring it all home.

Softball

Our Hornets Fastpitch Softball Team brought home a win, on the 20th, against Forest County last Tuesday, with a finishing score of 6-2.

Rodeo

The PHS rodeo members competed in Kiln, MS on Friday, April 23rd with the following results who placed in the top 10 categories:

Gentry Wilson: 2nd place in Barrel Racing, 3rd in Breakaway Roping, 4th in Pole Bending.

Laken Anderson: 2nd in Goat Tying.

Gavin Lee: 1st in Steer Wrestling.

Mason Theriot: 4th in Tie-Down Roping, 7th in Team Roping.

Great job to all rodeo members! We would also like to say good luck as they prepare for their next competition in Amite, LA on May, 7th.
