Week 6 Update

Week 6 Update

As you are aware, Governor Reeves announced on Tuesday that the school buildings will remain closed for the school year.  However, that does not mean that our teachers and staff are not available to help support students as they complete the work and activities that have been provided.  We will be working until the last day of school on May 22, 2020, in order to provide for the instructional needs of our students. We are also looking into providing additional learning resources for students beyond the school year.

We are currently reorganizing our district website in order to help you find all resources that are available for our students.  Please check out our new Online Learning Portal.  We have provided a link for each school in the district as well as a link to general information for parents and students. Remember, there is also a tab under Quick Links that will give you access to the student packets that were sent home. For technical difficulties or trouble with your child’s username and/or password for iReady or school Google account, email the helpdesk at help@poplarvilleschools.org

Parents, please set the expectation that your child completes the work provided.  Even if a grade is not being given, the work is important to sustain your child’s academic growth and future success.  If your child is having difficulty completing work, reach out to your child’s teacher as they are available to support our students.

We will also be offering additional work packets for parents/students that wish to have additional practice. These packets will be available at the Central Office beginning Monday, April 27. The packets will be available in filing cabinets on the front porch. The cabinets will be labeled by grade levels and resources.

Grab and Go meal distribution will continue on Monday,  Wednesday, and Friday of each week.  At pick up on Monday and Wednesday, children 18 and under will receive enough food to cover breakfast and lunch for two days. On Friday, they will receive one breakfast and one lunch. Hot meals are being added to Friday’s menu.  Meals will be served from 11 am to 1 pm at MSP.

Backpack Buddies’ distribution continues each Wednesday from 11 am to 1 pm at the Methodist church.
