PRCC Hosts CTE Day

Wow, what a red letter day! First of all, we want to give a much beloved shout out to our Pearl River Community College Wildcats. How very fortunate we are to have the best junior college in the state five minutes down the road from us. We want to thank you for hosting us today and letting our students have a preview of the 42 CTE programs you offer on your campus. We appreciate your helping us make the transition from high school to the college life a smooth one. We also appreciate your helping us fight the good fight as we continue to make sure that all students are successful in life.

Pearl River provided our students with a personal hands-on tour of the CTE programs of their choice. The students were able to talk to advisors, instructors, and students who are in the programs they are interested in as they toured the beautiful PRCC campus. The students were provided with information on a number of points of interest including: financial aid, housing, scholarships, and student organizations just to name a few. Pearl River also provided pizza and t-shirts to our students. We ended the day with a battle royale between a student representative from each school district. They had to duke it out in a game of musical basketball chairs, and we are proud to say that our very own Antonio Barnes brought home one of the two $250 scholarships. Once again, we want to say a big thank you to Pearl River for providing our students with this wonderful opportunity. We believe it is so important for them to get an actual experience of the college life, and we know this opportunity helps many of them determine a plan for a successful future. We appreciate Pearl River Community College for partnering with us to make this vision a reality.  #rollriverroll #teamworkmakesthedreamwork
