On Thursday, October 25th, Mr. Carl Merritt, Poplarville School District Superintendent, met with a consortium of Pine Belt superintendents on the William Carey University campus to discuss important issues concerning our educational community.
“This group helps our district join in a unified voice on important issues such as testing and helps that voice be heard at the state level,” Merritt stated.
Mr. Merritt (pictured in the center, back row) joined superintendents from Pearl River, Stone, George, Greene, Jones, Marion, Forrest, Covington and other southern Mississippi counties for this monthly meeting.
Next month, Buddy Bailey, a member of the State Board of Education, will join the meeting to discuss state-level issues.
