Today, Middle School of Poplarville was happy to take part in “See You at the Pole”. This is a national event in which students from all over the country gather at their school’s flagpole in order to pray for their school, friends, families, churches, and communities. Before first period, students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade made their way to the front of the school to listen to music and pray together. Rossie Creel, MSP’s own resource officer and Poplarville’s mayor, played his guitar and sang a song to the congregated students. This was followed by a long moment of silence for the students to say their own personal prayers. All in all, around 90 students participated in the event. It was concluded with the crowd singing “Happy Birthday” to Mrs. Pamela Mitchell, a 7th grade Math teacher there at the school.
