Smith makes History…AGAIN!

Poplarville High School senior, Turan Smith, is the 2017 Class 4A Powerlifting State Champion for the second year in a row!  He brought home the 2016 title last April for the first time in school history.

The Hornet Powerlifting team sent 2 competitors to Jackson, MS on Friday, April 14th for the MHSAA State Powerlifting Championships.

Turan came in 1st place in the 132 pound weight class.  Roosevelt Rain finished 4th in the 220 pound weight class with his personal best deadlift of 550 pounds.

We are extremely proud of our Hornets!!
