Kindergarteners Present Black History Month Projects

In February, students in Ms. Kathleen's kindergarten class presented their projects they completed to celebrate Black History Month. Over the month of February, students were read and discussed books about famous black Americans in history. They learned about diversity and celebrating how we are different in positive ways. To culminate the month, they put together a presentation where they researched a famous black American, from Harriet Tubman to LeBron James, wrote sentences about what they're famous for, and wrote a sentence describing the person as a hero, a star, or an inspiration. They then rehearsed and then presented their projects for parents and PLE principals as well as their fellow students in the classroom. This was their first time presenting their work as a school student, and they all did magnificent jobs!
