PHS HOSA Helps St. Jude

The Poplarville High School Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) committed themselves to a semester of service to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Over the past four months, the students hosted a fall fest, sent letters to friends and family, and sponsored a toy drive to collect donations for St. Jude. The students were able to raise a total of $2,660.00, in addition to hundreds of toy items for the patients.  Not only were the students able to bring joy to multiple patients but the students adopted one precious two year old and her mother and were able to shower them with gifts as well.  Upon completion of this service, students from HOSA took a trip to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where they personally presented the check and toys and also toured the facility.  The students have stated this was a life changing event for them.  Some stated this made them appreciate their lives and also inspired them to want to work for St. Jude in the future.  Mrs. Thompson the PHS HOSA Advisor states that she is very proud of the hard work and dedication these students have shown.
