Athletic Update 11/15-19/21

HORNET FOOTBALL:

The Football team played their 2nd round of playoffs against Moss Point on 11-12-21 with a winning score of 28-18.  The Hornets have now advanced to the MHSAA 3rd round of playoffs where they will compete against Mendenhall on Friday, November 20, 2021, on the PHS football field. Tickets will be $8.00 and sold at the gate and also available from 10-2 in the PHS office. The game will start at 7:00 pm. Come and support your local Hornets as they compete for making it to the South State Championships. The gate opens at 5:30pm.

HORNET SOCCER:

The PHS Hornet soccer teams played Columbia on November 9, 2021, at Columbia. They also played Hancock on Nov 11, 2021 at PRCC football field. The boy’s soccer team ended with a score of 5-1 against Columbia. The soccer teams’ next games are on November 15, 2021, at Picayune and on November 18, 2021, they will play at Hattiesburg. Girls start at 5:30 pm and boys at 7:00 pm.

HORNET BASKETBALL:

The PHS basketball teams played South Jones on November 9, 2021, for a home game, the girls ending score was 46-45, and the boy’s score was 69-35. The teams also played Vancleave Nov 12, 2021 at Vancleave. The boys ended with a score of 61-30. The boy’s and girls’ next games will be Nov 16, 2021 away at Bay High and on November 19, 2021, away at West Marrion.
