V0LLEYBALL NEWS

The Poplarville Hornet Volleyball Team lost both Region matches last week on the road to fall to 9-6 overall and 3-4 in Region 7-4A. The Hornets lost 3-0 to Stone County on Tuesday and 3-0 to Purvis Thursday.  The Hornets will conclude their 1st season Tuesday at home against Greene County. JV will play at 5pm with Varsity at 6pm.

FOOTBALL NEWS

The Hornet Football team dominated Stone County Friday on the road 41-14. The Hornets are now 3-4 overall and 2-0 in Region 7-4A. The Hornets will travel to Purvis (5-3, 2-0) Friday for a crucial Region 7-4A matchup with the Tornadoes. Kickoff is at 7pm.

Support for cancer awareness month shown brightly under the stadium lights. Cheerleaders carried pink pom poms, PHS band members wore pink ribbons, and fans and team members alike sported pink attire at the game. 

School spirit was also shown as the cheerleaders from Stone County High School were invited over to the PHS side of the field where PHS cheer leaders announced each Stone County cheer leader by name in a group cheer. The Stone County cheer leaders also joined in a cheer to support our team.
