PHS Basketball Weeks 5 and 6

A swarm of Hornets claimed another victory December 7, 2018. The boys varsity basketball team scored a total of 54 points during the game while visiting Varnado only scored 40. Congratulations on a good game and a good win! Our boys fought hard but lost in December 11’s away game against Sumrall by a score of 62-59. 

Alright, let’s get down to business about the PHS girls varsity basketball team. The girls basketball team emerged with a win over Picayune on December 4. The girls fought hard and were excited to bring home the victory! The leading scorer was Tytiana Buckley with 22. The girls basketball team then defeated Varnado December 7 in a score of 62-29. The leading scorers were Tytiana Buckley with 26 and Deanna Freeman with 10. The Hornets put up a fight on December 11 at Sumrall against the Bobcats. The girls successfully took home the win that night with a close score of 49-48. Lastly the Lady Hornets won December 14’s home game against Lumberton by a score of 49-42.The girls will be prepared for their next competitors while still being team players. Make sure you head out to the next game to watch for yourself to see if this team will take home another win.
