PHS STAR Student / Teacher Named

STAR of Excellence!

Poplarville High school’s 2018 STAR Student is Zachary Couvillion. Zach earned a score of 34 on the ACT. He selected PHS Spanish teacher Dr. Miguel Ramirez as his STAR Teacher, recognizing him as a teacher who has strongly impacted his high school career.
The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program recognizes high school senior in Mississippi who earn the highest ACT score in their school. The STAR student then selects his/her STAR teacher.
Zach and Dr. Ramriez will be honored during a luncheon hosted by the Mississippi Economic Council and the M.B. Swayze Foundation recognizing all of the STAR Students and STAR Teachers in the state this month in Jackson.
