On Friday, February 24th Austin Carter signed a National Letter of intent to play soccer at Salem International University in Salem, West Virginia.
Austin, the son of Wanda and Dale Carter, has played soccer at Poplarville for the past five years. He is best known for his position at Goalkeeper. Austin has also been a key player for the Poplarville Football Program.
Throughout his career at Poplarville, Austin has set many records and established many achievements. He was selected for the Max Preps Player of the Week Award twice and the First Team All District Award. He was the recipient for the Poplarville Coach’s Award.
Statistics from his career at Poplarville: 3424 goalkeeper minutes, average of 1.3 goals against, average of 287 saves with 56 goals against, 19 shutouts, 5.5 saves per game, and 4 penalty kick saves.
Austin shares his excitement, “I want to thank all of my teachers, parents, friends and family for getting me to this moment.”
