PLE Students Learn About Money

Representatives from BankPlus visited 2nd graders at PLE to teach them about the value of saving money.  They heard stories about the different ways people save money.  They were encouraged to set a savings goal and how to reach that goal.  They were also prompted to determine a safe place to keep the money they save.  They learned about opening a savings account at a bank.  They played a game to identify safe places to save their money versus unsafe places.  Freebies, such as water bottles, piggy banks, and backpacks were given out to the students.   The students enjoyed participating in the lessons, and they look forward to earning and saving money.
