On January 20, 2015, Noah Pearson, the son of Jason and Michelle Pearson signed a national letter of intent to play soccer for Pearl River Community College.
Paul Martin, PRCC Soccer Coach, said of his new player: “Noah Pearson is the first player that I have signed to a scholarship from Poplarville High School. Noah has the athleticism and technical abilities needed to compete at our level”.
Noah’s current soccer coach, Adam Smith, boasted of his player, saying, “Noah has been a great player to coach for the past four years. He has done everything you could ask a player to do for you as a coach. He has worked hard and deserves to continue to play the sport he loves. As his coach, the Hornet Soccer program wishes him luck as he becomes a Wildcat, but once a Hornet, always a Hornet”.
So, why PRCC? Noah’s father Jason Pearson told us, “As we were talking to various colleges that were recruiting Noah, we realized that all of those coaches talked about PRCC as the team to beat. That says a lot. They have won three state championships in a row. We are so proud that Noah will have a chance to play for a team of this caliber”.
Noah has set a new school record with 32 goals so far with two games left to play and is currently number one in the state for goals scored and total points. Congratulations to Noah on becoming a Wildcat!
