On February 12, 2015 Carl and Beverly Merritt toured the Aerojet Rocketdyne facility at Stennis Space Center after attending a breakfast sponsored by the facility. Stennis Space Center is working closely with STEM educators to help motivate students to study and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The tour included viewing and discussing the rocket engines that will power NASA's future missions to Mars.
"It was really amazing to see the amount of technology, engineering, and organization it takes to create something so complex and so important to us." stated Carl Merritt. "Students need to be aware of how great an opportunity they have for careers just miles from our community."
