PLE is “Popping Up” with iReady

PLE students were blessed with some beautiful weather on Friday, January 17th in which to enjoy popcorn and drink. Over 300 students participated in “Popcorn for Popping Up” on their MOY (Middle of the Year) Diagnostic Test. In the days and weeks before the tests, teachers held one-on-one “Data Chats” with their students to set goals. Once test results were in, students who scored grade-level or reached their goal were rewarded with popcorn, a drink, and a little outdoor play. The students really seemed to enjoy it! As the grownups conversed with students, asking why they were rewarded with popcorn, the students were able to tell… “because I was in the green!” or “because I grew __ points!”
PLE believes the data chats and goal setting led to more reliable results. Diagnostic test results showed much growth! PLE is proud of its students and teachers!
