BASKETBALL

Poplarville High School varsity girls and boys basketball teams played an away game at PRC on Tuesday, January 14th and Purvis on Friday, January 17th. Sadly, both the boys and girls fell short against PRC and Purvis. The girls final score against PRC was 50-17, and Purvis 38-33. The boys final score against PRC was 55-32, and Purvis 47-58. This week the boys and girls basketball teams will be traveling to Sumrall on Tuesday, January 21st and will play against Greene County at home on Friday, January 24th. All girls games will start at 6:00pm and all boys games will begin at 7:30pm.

SOCCER

Last week, both Poplarville high-school boys and girls soccer team played an away game against FCAHS on Monday, January 13th. The boys tried their best but came up short resulting in a score of 2-3 during overtime. The girls were able to defeat FCAHS by a score of 5-2 in a tense game. On Thursday, January 16th both teams traveled to Greene County. The boys overcame the other team with a score of 1-0 during overtime. The girls worked hard to bring home a win but when the game ended in a shootout, the girls were 3 short with a 2-4 result. This week, both Poplarville Highschool soccer teams have two upcoming games. The first game is an away game against Stone county on Tuesday, January 21st. On Thursday, January 23rd both teams will play a home game against PRC. All girls soccer games start at 5:30pm and the boys at 7:00pm.
