Bayly McGill and Gen Smith are headed to Nationals in Dallas, Texas to compete in CPR and First Aid for HOSA. They started off at district which led them to state, and now nationals!!! They prepared for about 5 months by practicing their skills everyday for about an hour. Bayly would practice First Aid scenarios while Gen practiced doing CPR. They would come in during break and sometimes during their lunch to make sure they perfected their skills. When they were not practicing, they were doing fundraisers with the help of other HOSA members. Some of the fundraisers were candy sales, raffles, knife sales, and pizza sales every other Friday during break. With all their hard work, they went to district and placed 7th in their testing and 3rd in their skills which sent them to state. At state, they placed 4th in testing and 1st in their skills, so now these talented ladies are going to Nationals to represent Poplarville High School’s Health Science group, HOSA.
