Transitioning to Middle School

The transition to middle school can be one of the biggest challenges any student faces. Our 6th Grade Academy offers a clear, focused start that can pave the way to higher involvement, better grades, and in the end, success.

MSP’s 6th grade Academy is an orientation program that can help you give your child a jumpstart to a successful middle school career.  At no cost to you, MSP’s ReAct (Renaissance Action) Team will host an orientation meeting with your 6th grade student, including the following:

  • A custom presentation featuring school clubs, activities and resources to help 6th grade students adjust and get involved

  • An informative tour of the campus

  • An opportunity to meet teachers and campus leaders

  • An opportunity to bring beginning of the year supplies

  • Posters to remind students about getting involved

  • Parent information session

Sixth Grade Academy will be held in lieu of Get Acquainted Day for the 2014-15 school year.  The Academy date will be scheduled by homeroom teachers.
