MSP Quest – Medical Mystery Study

Mrs. Holly Johnson’s 6th grade Quest classes took part in a problem based learning experience that focused on a real life medical mystery scenario.

Students were given daily reports of symptoms and stories of different individuals whose health began to decline rapidly. Each student worked hard and raced against the clock to diagnose the patients correctly and also had to decide what medical care needed to be taken.

At the end of the study, the students transformed the classro
om into a hospital and presented their reports to Dr. Angela Jones, Christina Meador, CNP, Jessica Carr, RN, and the MSP health classes.

Our medical judges agreed that the students had diagnosed the patients correctly, and gave them wonderful feedback. We want to thank our judges and audience who came and helped make this study so meaningful.
