On Monday, February 13, 2017 at their regular meeting, the Poplarville School Board recognized Stephen Seal as Administrator of the Year.
Seal is a 27 year veteran of the district and is currently the technology coordinator of the Poplarville School District. He has served as technology coordinator for the past six years that have seen many changes in educational technology.
“We’ve pretty much rebuilt everything infrastructure-wise and are in the process of rebuilding our wireless services to meet the ever-growing classroom demands. Seems strange but 6 years ago, when I took this job, there were no such thing as Chromebooks, no G-Suite, nor online testing. Things have changed at lightspeed,” Seal stated. “I’ve been very blessed to have a great tech team working with me every day. And, a business manager and Superintendent that get how important technology is to this district really helps. There are many districts across the state that don’t have these things. We are certainly blessed.”
Seal taught on the PHS campus for 21 years before becoming technology coordinator. He was named District Teacher of the Year in 2003 and was chosen as Star Teacher in 2001, 2005, 2007, and 2011. He was also the science department chairman at PHS from 2001 through 2011.
