PHS 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mrs. Erin Breland who was selected as Poplarville High School’s Teacher of the Year.  She was selected by her colleagues for this award.

Mrs. Breland attended PRCC for two years and then transferred to USM where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Math.  She has been teaching Foundations of Algebra and Algebra 1 for the past 3 years at Poplarville High School.

Mrs. Breland reflects on her favorite part of teaching, “My favorite part of teaching is when a student’s attitude about school completely changes.  I love to hear students say that they can’t wait to come to my room to learn.  I love seeing them light up when they have finally understood a concept that they have never understood before.  I also love being able to be a positive influence to students.  I try to exhibit the behaviors that will help these students be successful not only in the classroom but in life as well”.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to Poplarville High School!
