We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Hattiesburg Zoo for hosting Poplarville Career Center’s Year 2 Marketing and Health Science students.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed exploring the medical, nutrition, and veterinary facilities. The program is truly state of the art, and the behind the scenes tour provided an invaluable, real-world learning experience.
It was especially impactful for students to see how business operations connect to sustainability—such as growing supplemental food to reduce costs—while supporting animal care and overall efficiency.
Experiences like this highlight the importance of exposing students to successful local organizations and career pathways. Opportunities like these not only enhance classroom learning but also inspire students as they consider their future in college and beyond.
