The Poplarville High School golf team has concluded one of the most successful seasons in program history, finishing among the top three teams at the MHSAA State Golf
Tournament just five strokes shy of capturing the state title.
The 2025 season was marked by several impressive team achievements including
championship victories at both the Columbia Golf Tournament and the Class 4A Region 8
Tournament. This year’s regional win marks the second consecutive region championship for the Poplarville squad. The team also secured multiple top-three finishes throughout the season including standout performances at the East Central Opening Major, the Brookhaven Golf Tournament, the Tornado Classic, and the MHSAA Tournament.
Individual accomplishments further highlighted the team’s success. Brayden Lee earned
individual titles at both the Columbia Golf Tournament and the Region 8 Tournament. Jett Smith claimed a strong second-place finish at the Region Tournament while Noah Smith recorded fourth-place finishes at the Tornado Classic and the Brookhaven Golf Tournament and finished tenth overall at the state tournament. Chase Sones also excelled at the state level finishing eighth overall.
With all five team members returning next season, the Poplarville Golf Team is well-positioned for another outstanding campaign in 2026.
