Athletic Update: 3/7-12/22

Softball:

The Lady Hornets competed at Bay High on March 3, 2022, dominating the Tigers with a score of 15-8. They also participated in a PRCC tournament on March 5, 2022.

The next game for our Lady Hornets will be on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Purvis High School. The junior varsity will start at 5:00 and varsity will start at 6:30. There will also be a game on March 10, 2022, at FCAHS JV starts at 5:00 and Varsity starts at 6:30. The Hornets will also be playing in a tournament

Baseball:

The Poplarville Hornet Baseball team competed against Pine High School on Saturday, March 5th 2022 at the Hornets nest. The Hornets dominated the board with a 11-4 win over Pine High School and another win for the Hornets on Thursday, March 3rd, 2022 at the Hornets nest with a 15-1 win. The Hornets competed hard this weekend and fiercely this last week. The Perry Central Bulldogs weren’t prepared for the whooping 13-7 win on March 1st, 2022. We took them by surprise! In the future, we look forward to a great season this year with the baseball team! Way to go Hornets!

This week our Hornets are looking at a busy schedule with 5 games.  just this week. The first one will be held today Monday, March 7, 2022, at Picayune at 6:30pm. The second one will take place on March 8, 2022 here at the nest against Pope John Paul PH at 6:30pm. The third game is going to be on March 10, 2022, away, against Franklinton at 6:30pm. The fourth game will take place on March 11, 2022  ,away and against Pine LA at 6pm. Finally, the last game of the week will be on March 12, 2022 against Bogalusa at Pine High School at 10am.

Archery:

Our PHS Archery team will have a meet on Monday, March 7th at the PHS Middle School directly after school.

Tennis:

The Hornets Tennis team will play Mar 7, 2022, at Tatum Park in Hattiesburg against FCAHS, at 4:00 pm. We invite all of you to come out and cheer on our Hornets tennis team.
