Athletic Update 2/14-19/22

Girls Basketball:

February 4th the girls played against FCAHS, the final ending score for the FCAHS game was 26-38.  The girls battled out with Purvis High School on the 10th of February, 2022. The final ending score for the Purvis game was 29-50. The girls will be competing against the Pass Christian Pirates on the 14th, come and support the Lady Hornet basketball team as they advance to the 1st round of Playoffs!  The game starts at 6:00 pm. Hornet Basketball Boys:

The boys basketball team played against Forrest County Agricultural High School on February 4th, 2022 the final end score for the game was 51-62. The boys also played against Columbia High School on the 1st of February. Ending scores for the Columbia game was 49-42 good job boys!

Softball:

The Lady Hornet Softball team started off their season with a Jamboree on February 12, 2022, at Harrison. Their first game will be on February 15, 2022, against Bay High at the Hornet softball field, starting at 6:30. They also have games on February 17, 2022, at Perry Central and on February 19, 2022, they will play in the Gulfport Classic. The game on 17th starts at 6:30 pm.

Baseball:

The Hornet baseball team will play their first game on February 15th 2022 against Richland at the PHS baseball field, starting at 5:00 pm. They will play in a Green County Tournament on February 17, 2022, at Green County, and will have a game to be determined on February 19, 2022.

Powerlifting Team:

Congratulations to our powerlifting students: Tucker Smith who was 1st in 242lb,  Mark Will who was 1st in 198lb, and Lawrence Jamison who placed 3rd in 165lb. These students will advance to South State Powerlifting Championship to be held March 5th. You make the Hornet Nation proud.

Track:

A track meet will be held on Thursday at West Harrison high school.

Dance:

Dance Tryouts will be on March 4. Info packets are in the front office. The deadline for forms is Feb. 23

Color Guard:

Color Guard will have the 2022-2023 tryout forms in the office. Clinical’s are March 21-22, 3:45-6:30. Tryouts will be , 3:45-6:30
