Football

An enormous congratulations is in order for our PHS football team as they dominated the 2020 4A South State Championship with an impressive score of 35-6.   The Hornets defeated the Mendenhall Tigers  Friday Night Nov. 27th.  Poplarville now has a chance to win it’s first ever football State Championship Saturday, December 5th, against the Louisville Wildcats.  The  game will be played at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson, MS.  Kickoff is at 11:00am.  Find Championship Week and Game Day information below:

Gridiron Classic 4A State Championship Information

The Hornets will be the visiting team and visiting fans are to enter through Gate 10C which is the opposite side of the press box.  Tickets at the gate will be $15.00 (all day pass).  Tickets for the visiting side will be sold at Gate 10C. Tickets can be purchased online at WWW.GOFAN.CO Gate 9 is to be used by fans using a state pass or fans that are entering via a wheelchair.

Stadium Prohibited Items: Videotaping, horns and sirens, umbrellas, heaters, ice chests, outside food or drink, weapons, alcohol or tobacco, or any item deemed inappropriate, hazardous, unsafe. Clear Bag Policy will be enforced.

Covid 19 Guidelines: Hinds County is currently under a mask mandate. No mask no entry. Mask must be worn when moving about the stadium. Social distancing observed when in line for concessions and/ or restrooms.

Television and Web-Streaming: All games will be televised live as well as shown online at the NFHS Network’s Mississippi Channel. A listing of stations statewide will be announced prior to the event.

Soccer 

   The PHS soccer teams will play at Purvis Tuesday December, 1st.Thursday December, 3rd  we will be playing against Sumrall at home. Girls start at 5:30, and boys start at 6:30. Good Luck to both boys and girls teams!!!

Basketball

Congratulations to the girls basketball team! Over Thanksgiving break, they scored themselves 2 victories. Giving it their all against Lamar Christian and Pass Christian. The next games are home on December 1st and 4th. For the girls varsity basketball team, on the 1st they’ll be playing against Gulfport and the game starts at 5:00. On the 4th they will be playing against Picayune and the game starts at 6:00. As for the boys varsity team, on the same dates. On the 1st they’ll play against Vancleave. On the 4th they will go head-to-head against Picayune. Both games start at 7:30.
