Micah Davis Shines as the 2020 STAR Student
Poplarville High School is pleased to announce Micah Davis as our 2020 STAR student. The Star Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program recognizes the graduating senior with the highest ACT score. Micah received a score of 33 on his ACT. This 17 year old senior currently holds a 98.76 GPA and a 4.16 QPA. He is taking college credit hours and plans to have accumulated 34 before his high school graduation. He will attend Mississippi College aspiring to double major in Pre-Med Biology and Spanish with the Presidential Scholarship he has obtained. He hopes to stay active in tennis. He is supported by his parents: Dr. Stan and Mrs. Melanie Davis, and siblings: Caleb, Nathan, and Levi. His response to his high achievement score was: “I’m honestly just glad that I don’t have to take the ACT again.”
The STAR student Micah chose Mrs. Jacqrin Dodge as his STAR teacher stating: “She is an amazing teacher as well as being intentional about really knowing her students.
