Slowpitch Softball Region Champs

The Poplarville Lady Hornet Slow Pitch Softball Team clinched the Class II Region 8 Championship last night with an exciting 7-5, 7th inning win at Purvis. With a win over FCAHS next week, the Lady Hornets will complete an undefeated Region record of 6-0. Lanna Welborn provided the winning RBI with a top of the 7th 2-run Homerun to break a 5-5 tie. Hanna Blanchard also went deep in the 1st inning producing 2 runs. The Lady Hornets will begin the playoffs at home as a #1 seed Saturday, October the 6th, with the start TBD.
