Hornets Rock the Rockachaws; Rematch with Tornadoes Friday

The Poplarville Hornets won their 2nd round playoff game Friday against St. Stanislaus 42-31.  The Rockachaws made it interesting on their home field but the defending South State Champion Hornets persevered.  Austin Bolton and Cory Knight both rushed for over 100 yards. Peytan Graham added an offensive touchdown and a defensive touchdown with his fumble return before the end of the 1st half.  This was the 2nd week in a row with a defensive touchdown at the end of the 1st half.  DJ Travis provided a interception return for a touchdown in the Hornets 1st round game with Northeast Lauderdale.  Both defensive touchdowns were huge boost for the Hornets.  The #1 ranked 4A Hornets will be back on the road Friday, November 17th, at Purvis for the 3rd round.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.  PHS beat the Tornadoes during the regular season 69-34 at home.  For directions, click on the link below.
