Hornets Make History, Perfect Regular Season; Ticket Info for Playoffs

The Poplarville Hornets completed the 4th undefeated regular season in school history (1953, 1959,1972, 2017) Friday with a 58-20 victory over the Lawrence County Cougars on the road. Poplarville was once again potent on the ground but also showed their ability to score through the air with 2 Antonio Barnes to Canaan Ray touchdown passes.  The #1 ranked 4A Hornets now turn their attention to the playoffs.  PHS will host the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans Friday Night, November the 3rd, at 7pm in the 1st round of the 4A state playoffs.  

 

Important Playoff Gameday notes:

 

  • Tickets will be $8.00 according to MHSAA rules.
  • Pre-Sale tickets will be available Wednesday – Friday at the PHS office from noon to 1:00 pm.
  • State Passes only will be honored for free admission.
  • Gates will open at 5:30pm.
  • Friday’s game will be a “Green Out” game.
  • $5.00 parking will be available at the Stinger St. gate (tennis courts).
