Poplarville’s Defense Dominates Over the Greene County Wildcats

The Poplarville Hornets overpowered their competition Friday night during their homecoming game against the Greene County Wildcats, 23-7.

The fans were filled with excitement as the Hornets played their first district game against the Wildcats.

The Hornets were leading at halftime 16-7.  The Hornet’s defense would hold the Wildcats during the second half, preventing any more points.  Toward the end of the fourth quarter, running back Austin Bolton would run 60 yards for the final touchdown of the game, bringing the final score to 23-7.

Friday’s win brought the Hornets’ record to 4-2; 1-0 in the district.

Next Friday, the Hornets will face the Aggies at Forrest County Agricultural High School for their second district game.  Kickoff is at 7 p.m.  Hope to see everyone at the game!
