Senior running back Malik Lucas was named The Clarion Ledger’s state player of the week for week 9. The state chooses a player each week to receive the honor. Considering the fact that the MHSAA has nearly 290 public schools that participate in football, this is a tremendous honor. Malik rushed for 285 yards on 20 carries and reached the end zone 4 times to lead the Hornets to a 47-46 victory over previously unbeaten and top ranked St. Stanislaus. Congratulations Malik!!!
