Poplarville High School Officials Take the Ice Bucket Challenge, Raise Awareness and Money for ALS Association
Superintendent Carl Merritt, Principals Jon Will and Dr. Marlene Cole, and Bookkeeper Laurie Langolois took the ALS Ice Bucket challenge recently.
The challenge involves having buckets of ice cold water dumped on participants in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. They were challenged by family members, co-workers, and friends. In return, they challenged family members and other school representatives.
All decided the experience could be summed up in one word: shocking!
“At first, it was a shock; but, because it was so hot that day, the ice water actually felt pretty good”, said Superintendent Carl Merritt.
All agreed they would do the challenge again, since it is for a worthy cause.
