IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARENTS OF ALL STUDENTS ATTENDING POPLARVILLE SCHOOLS IN SY 2014-2015.
Before ANY student will be assigned to a class or given a schedule for the 2014-2015 school year, the student’s parent or legal guardian MUST verify residency in the Poplarville School District. Residency may be established in the following manner:
The parent or legal guardian must provide the school district with at least two (2) of the items numbered 1-6 below as verification of their address, except that any document with a post office box as an address will NOT be accepted. The two proofs must verify the EXACT same address as student’s primary residence and be current.
Filed Homestead Exemption Application form for the student’s primary residence
Mortgage Document or property deed for the student’s primary residence (A bill is NOT an acceptable document. An acceptable document will contain the land description of the student’s primary residence.)
Notarized Apartment or home lease where the student resides
Utility Bills (Water, Electricity, or Gas – NO PHONE BILLS) Bills Must be Dated Within One Month of Verification of Residence. A physical service address must be visible. NO PO Box will be accepted.
Current Valid Driver’s License Showing Residency Property Address
Current Valid Automobile Registration – Name and physical address must be valid – A car title is not a valid proof.
A notarized affidavit and/or an unscheduled personal visit by the school superintendent and/or designee may be used to establish a homeless situation. The notarized affidavit must be presented with 2 proofs of the residence from 1-6 above that verify the same address as the host resident.
The Poplarville School District will verify the residence of ALL students attending the Poplarville Schools for the 2014-2015 school year. Verification of Residency for all students will be the week of July 22. Please read the procedures below for specific instructions.
NEW students to the Poplarville School District will register at their respective schools on Monday, July 21 – 8:30 – 4:00
RETURNING students to the Poplarville School District will register at Poplarville High School by their Parent’s last name.
Tuesday – July 22 –8:30-4:30 – Parents’ Last Names (A-E)
Wednesday – July 23 –8:30-4:30 – Parents’ Last Names (F-L)
Thursday – July 24–8:30-4:30 – Parents’ Last Names (M-R)
Friday – July 25 –8:30-4:30 – Parents’ Last Names (S-Z)
Note: Early Verification of Residence is NOT allowed due to dated document requirements.
Monday, July 28– 8:30 – 4:30 Make-up Registration at Individual Schools. Only those with valid reasons should register on this day. Waiting until this day to register may cause a delay in scheduling and/or room assignment.

PLEASE NOTE: NO student will be assigned to a class or given a schedule until verification of residence is complete . ALL immunizations must be completed as well.
More information will be posted on the Poplarville School District’s website by July 1. Downloadable enrollment forms will also be available online after this date.
No exceptions will be granted to this requirement of verification of residence.
